Rules

outbid.games is a real-time community leaderboard where gamers and fans pool contributions together to bring their favorite videogames to the top. Rank is determined solely by the total pooled amount.

How Ranking & Pooling Works

  • Whole US Dollars: All contributions are in whole dollar amounts ($1 minimum increment).
  • Automated Pooling: When multiple backers contribute to the same video game, all contributions combine into a single active listing pool.
  • Rank Determination: The total pooled amount decides the game's leaderboard rank.
  • Tie Breakers: Equal pooled totals remain in the order they reached that amount — the older pool holds the higher rank.
  • Overtaking #1: To claim rank #1, a game's total pool must reach at least $1 above the current #1 pool.

Contribution Split System

  • Custom Split Choice: Whenever you contribute, you decide how your support is divided between the game developer and the platform.
  • Full Flexibility: You can adjust the split slider freely up to 100% to the Game (and 0% to the platform).
  • Platform Share: Used to fund hosting, database infrastructure, IGDB data feeds, and ongoing leaderboard operations.

Unclaimed Support & Developer Payouts

  • Public Unclaimed Balance: The game's portion of every contribution is held publicly as “Unclaimed Support” visible on the leaderboard and game pages.
  • Developer Claim Flow: Verified game creators and studios can claim accrued funds by verifying official game ownership (via Steam developer access, studio domain email, or verified social handle).
  • Payout Settlement: Upon verification, the unclaimed support balance is paid out to the studio's designated payout account (Stripe, Direct Bank Wire, PayPal, or Crypto).
  • Community Tagging: Fans are encouraged to tag developers on X/socials with ready-to-use templates to alert creators that community support is waiting for them.

Payment & Settlement

  • Live contributions are processed and settled securely via Dodo Payments.
  • Once verified, your contribution is credited to the game's total pool and the live activity ticker in real time.
  • No Lottery / No Speculation: outbid.games is a pure community support leaderboard. There are no personal payouts or financial returns to contributors.
